3 Sensible Ideas to Help in Planting an Attractive Garden
Creating a garden that is simply beautiful is not as difficult as most would believe, and you can have a garden that’s both beautiful and practical. Doing some planning and putting in some work will result in a relaxing place that you can really enjoy.
Pets
Do Not Overlook Your Pet: Many folks have the silly idea that your pet will not get along with your garden, this is inaccurate. A little cleverness goes a long way. When devising the plan for your garden, just keep your pets requirements in mind. The main problem for pet owners is pet urine and feces, especially since the former can cause brown spots in lawns due to a high nitrogen content.
The solution to this would be to shower the area with water or gypsum. Taking feces into account, you can bury it or toss it into the trash. Just make sure not to put it in your compost because their waste does not fall under the guidelines of healthy fertilizer; due to the meat they consume. Your pets will always have the need for cool water and a little shade, so bear this in mind when figuring your garden out.
Annuals
Picking annuals is a wonderful idea due to the simple fact that they grow from a small seed into a full plant in just one year as their life cycle lasts one year, and they can provide you with some stunning flowers. Although they only last for a single year, they’re marvelous plants because of the way in which they’re bred; they produce a lot of bright, lovely flowers and some amazing foliage.
Since they reproduce via seeds, which means flowers must come first, annuals tend to flower early. Another advantage to annuals is that you can either replant the same ones, from the seeds you collected, or you can buy new types to add a little variety to your garden from one year to the next.
Every year, new annuals are introduced, with some preferring cool weather while others adapting better in warm weather. When it comes to annuals your imagination is your only limit.
Fruit Plants
Due to the size of some fruit plants and the care they may need, planting fruits might be a bit more complicated for the home garden. For example, growing pineapples can be a very difficult thing to do. But, there’s still plenty to choose from, depending on your preferences. You could grow fruit trees, such as apricot, apple, cherry and peach trees if space isn’t a problem.
Growing fruits that grow on vines, like kiwis and grapes, fruits that grow on the ground, like melons and strawberries, or fruits that grow in shrubs like blackberries, may be an alternative option. It’s important to remember the time it’ll take before you get the first yield when choosing fruit. Fruit trees can take many years to produce any fruit, but once they do they’ll continue to do so for a number of years, whereas melons are ready to harvest in the same year as they’re annuals.
Conclusion
Depending on your goals, you can have a beautiful garden with amazing flowers as well as a practical one featuring different vegetables, fruits and herbs. Regardless of what plants you end up getting, you must make sure that you’re capable of looking after your plants, so you’ll need to do some research beforehand.

Kiwi, Male (Pollination) $4.95 Our cold hardy strain is a big improvement over the fuzzy, brown-skinned Kiwi. This rare Kiwi is a much sweeter tasting fruit. Grows much further north than the regular Kiwi. Fruits average about 3/4-1 1/2" in diameter. Tastes somewhat like a tangy combination of strawberries and pineapple. Fruit will keep in the refrigerator for up to 4 months. The hardy Kiwi is somewhat similar to the grape vine, only much faster growing. Under ideal growing conditions it will grow up to 5" a day — and reach a height of 8' the very first year! It will quickly climb a trellis or wall. Its thick mass of bright green leaves will soon cover ugly service areas, stumps, even old buildings. Then in late May, lovely white, camellia-like flowers will appear to fill the air with a fragrant lily-of-the-valley scent. NOTE: Be sure to plant a male Kiwi with at least every 5 females for proper pollination. Complete growing instructions included with order. Plant male within 200'-300' of any females. |
