Drawing your site – Creating background to your site – PART 02
Thinking about site background
So you want draw good website. For this you need present in the mind what you want to see in your browser. So in your site must be good background. On this lesson I want explain you how to do it.
Draw background in the Photoshop
Please open your Photoshop program and create new file. For this available 2 variants. First is a hot key like Ctrl+N. Second you need press File>New…
In opened new window please do next things. Create name of your file ‘firstSite’. Width for site will be 990px and height 700px. Resolution must be 72pixels/inch. Color mode: RGB Color, 8bit. And click to button ‘OK’.
So you created new document where you will draw your site. To draw you will need toolbar. Please click Window>Tools to open this toolbar. Also you will need Layers panel. To open layers you need click Window>Layers or press f7
Now you can draw fantastic site:) You need planning to put image as a background for your site. For this you need find image for background. You can use open source website www.pdphoto.org and there in search field write ‘flower’ and click to search button. In list of images use red one because Flash Program have red color:) and click to this image. After this drug and drop this image to your Photoshop files. In your library you can find new layer with this image.
Sure you need save your file. For this you can make File>Save, or just click Ctrl+S. In Save As window you need chose folder where you need to save your file and click to save button.
On your toolbar you need to find ‘set foreground color’ icon and click to it. In Color Picker window I chosen black color and clicked ok button
After this you need find background layer on your library and click to this layer. Press Ctrl+Backspace or Alt+Backspace its depend what foreground color you changed to black. And you will get absolutely black background.
Now you need click to Layer 1 (this is layer with your flower image) on your library and press Ctrl + T or click Edit>Free Transform. After this pls press Shift and move mouse to corner of transform border of your image. Change size of your image background. After this please click to ‘add layer mask’ button on top part of layers panel. And your layer with image a little bit change. Use gradient tool to modify image. For this you can find gradient on your toolbar or just click ‘G’. Please use ‘black to white’ gradient. After this move your mouse to red flower and change this image. You can play with this effect and stops do it when you like result. In the end you must get something like on this file.
